We Build Apps Our Friends Actually Use - That's How These Scoring Apps Happened (Introducing Padel & Squash)
Pickleball, Padel, and Squash - we got you covered
If you've been reading our Storq Labs blog posts, you know we have a pretty simple rule when we build something: Would our friends and family actually use this? If the answer isn't a clear yes, we don't ship it.
That mindset is what led us to build our first scoring app for pickleball. We play. Our friends play. Our families play. And very quickly, we started hearing the same things over and over again on the court. Keeping score was harder than it should be.
Pickleball Taught Us the Real Problem
When we built our pickleball score counter, we thought we were solving a small, sport-specific problem. But once people started using it, the feedback was immediate - and surprisingly consistent.
The issues weren't unique to pickleball.
- People forget the score mid-game
- Someone always remembers it differently
- Paper scorecards disappear
- Some apps are overcomplicated
The Same Problem Exists in Padel and Squash
Padel and squash have their own rules, pacing, and scoring systems - but the core problem is the same: scoring should never interrupt the game.
So instead of building one giant sports app, we did what felt right to us: we built small, focused apps for each sport, designed around how those games are actually played. We don't like clutter, and we're sure you're the same.
More Than Just the Score
As people kept using our apps, something else became clear.
It's not just about knowing the score right now. It's also about seeing your games over time.
Players told us they liked being able to:
- Look back at past matches
- See how often they're actually playing
- Get a rough sense of how their game is trending
- Realize, "Oh, I've been on court a lot this month"
Without turning it into a fitness tracker or a social feed, we wanted the apps to quietly keep a history of your matches - just enough to help you understand your playing habits and, honestly, how often you're getting out there and moving.
Sometimes that's the most motivating part.
In fact, now in our Pickleball App you can track calculate, track and reference your Pickleball skill level when things start to get a bit competitive.
Padel Score Tracker - Built for Real Matches
Padel Score Tracker came directly from watching (and playing) padel matches where someone was always unsure of the score.
The goal wasn't to reinvent anything. It was to make scoring feel effortless.
- One-tap scoring
- Clear, readable display
- Automatic handling of games, sets, deuce, and tiebreaks
- Match history saved locally
- No account, no ads, no internet required
It's the kind of app you open once, understand immediately, and don't think about again until the match is over.

Squash Score Pro - Simple Enough to Use Mid-Match
Squash is fast. There's no time to fight with a complicated interface.
Squash Score Pro was designed with that reality in mind: big tap areas, clear scoring, and support for the scoring formats people actually use.
When the match ends, the result is saved. Over time, that turns into a simple record of how often you're playing, how your matches go, and how consistently you're getting exercise - without any pressure to "optimize" it.

Small Apps, Built With Intention
We don't try to build apps for everyone. We try to build apps for people we know.
That means:
- No unnecessary features
- No dark patterns
- No data collection we wouldn't be comfortable explaining to our parents
Just tools that quietly do their job and help people play a little more - and a little more often.
What's Next?
We'll keep listening, the same way we did with pickleball. Every new app comes from a real match, real feedback, or someone saying, "This would be great if…"
If you're using our apps and have ideas, we genuinely want to hear them. That's how all of this started.
Thanks for playing - and thanks for trusting us to keep score.
