A Tiny Daily Habit That Helps Everyone Worry Less (Introducing Still Here)
Still Here is a simple, privacy-first daily check-in app for people who live alone. One tap a day to stay connected and give loved ones peace of mind.
If you’ve read our Storq Labs posts before, you know we have a pretty simple rule when we build something:
Would our friends and family actually use this every day?
If the answer isn’t a clear yes, we don’t ship it.
That mindset gave us our sports scoring apps. We built them because we play those sports ourselves.
Still Here came from something a little different.
Not competition. Not performance.
Just everyday life.
The Small Worry We All Have
At some point, most of us have someone we think about a lot.
A parent living on their own.
A friend in a new city.
A sibling across the country.
Or maybe it’s you, enjoying your independence.
Everything’s fine. Life is normal.
But every now and then you realize you haven’t heard from them in a bit, and you catch yourself wondering.
“Did they get home okay?”
“Are they just busy?”
“Should I check in?”
Usually it’s nothing. Almost always it’s nothing.
Still, that tiny bit of uncertainty sticks around.
We kept thinking there should be an easier, lighter way to say, once a day:
“Hey, I’m good.”
We Didn’t Want a ‘Safety’ App
When we looked at what already existed, most options felt heavy.
Big dashboards.
Constant tracking.
Accounts and permissions everywhere.
Some of them felt more like monitoring tools than something you’d casually use every day.
That wasn’t our style.
We didn’t want something dramatic or intrusive.
We wanted something quiet. Friendly. Almost boring.
The kind of app you open, tap once, and forget about.
So We Built Still Here
Still Here is a simple daily check-in app for iPhone.
Once a day, you tap a button to check in. That’s it.
If you miss a day, the app can gently nudge someone you trust so they can say hi and make sure everything’s normal.
No pressure. No alarms. Just a small layer of reassurance.
We kept it intentionally simple:
- One-tap daily check-ins
- Friendly reminders
- Flexible check-in windows
- Optional notifications to people you choose
- Streaks and history
- No ads, no accounts, no tracking
- Your data stays private
It’s less of a “system” and more of a habit. Like brushing your teeth or sending a good morning text.
Tiny. Easy. Done.

Built for Real Life
As we shared it with friends and family, we realized how many people this resonates with.
Parents who want their kids to worry a little less.
Kids who want an easy way to check in with home.
Students, travelers, remote workers, anyone living solo.
It’s not about emergencies or worst-case scenarios.
It’s just about staying loosely connected, even on busy days.
A small daily “still here” that says everything’s normal.
Small Apps, Built With Intention
This is very much how we like to build at Storq Labs.
We don’t aim for giant, complicated platforms. We prefer small tools that do one thing well and get out of the way.
No clutter.
No dark patterns.
No unnecessary data collection.
Just something simple that people actually keep installed.
Still Here is exactly that.
Give It a Try
If you or someone you care about lives on their own, it’s worth trying.
Setup takes less than a minute. The daily check-in takes a second.
And sometimes that’s all it takes to make everyone feel a little more at ease.
