Plain Language Summary

Your mortgage data stays on your device. Mortgage Calculator Clear does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers. All your mortgage parameters and calculations are stored locally on your device only. The app shows ads (via Google AdMob) for free users, which may collect device identifiers for ad delivery. Premium users ($4.99 one-time purchase) see no ads.

1. Introduction and Data Controller

Welcome to Mortgage Calculator Clear ("the App"), a mobile educational mortgage calculator developed by Storq Labs BV ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in the Netherlands.

This Privacy Policy explains our data practices and your rights. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Important: This app provides educational mortgage estimates only. It is not financial, tax, or legal advice. All calculations are approximations. Consult a qualified financial advisor before making mortgage decisions.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device Only

The following data is entered by you and stored exclusively on your device via AsyncStorage. This data is never transmitted to Storq Labs servers:

We cannot access, view, retrieve, or recover any of the data listed above under any circumstances. This data exists only on your device.

2.2 Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements to free users. AdMob may automatically collect the following:

  • Device identifiers (e.g., IDFA on iOS)
  • IP address
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
  • General device information (device model, OS version)

The App requests non-personalized ads only by default (requestNonPersonalizedAdsOnly: true). If you grant App Tracking Transparency permission, ads may be personalized based on Google's data practices.

2.3 Data We Do NOT Collect

  • No personal identification - No names, emails, phone numbers, or accounts
  • No location data - We do not request or use location
  • No contacts or address book access
  • No camera, microphone, or photo library access
  • No health or financial account data - Mortgage parameters you enter are not linked to any real financial accounts
  • No analytics or crash reporting SDKs - We do not use Firebase Analytics, Sentry, Crashlytics, or similar
  • No cloud sync - There is no backend server

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob (react-native-google-mobile-ads)

Purpose: Displaying banner ads (bottom of screen) and interstitial ads (between tab switches, 3-minute cooldown) for free users. Premium users see no ads.

Data Handling: AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and ad interaction data per Google's privacy policy. The app requests non-personalized ads only by default.

SKAdNetwork: SKAdNetwork identifiers are included for Apple's privacy-preserving ad attribution.

Apple App Tracking Transparency (expo-tracking-transparency)

Purpose: Presents Apple's ATT prompt per Apple's requirements.

If you consent: Ads may be personalized based on your activity across other apps and websites.

If you decline: Only non-personalized ads are shown. App functionality is not affected.

Apple In-App Purchases (expo-in-app-purchases)

Purpose: Processing the one-time $4.99 Premium purchase (removes ads, unlocks unlimited sharing).

Data Handling: All purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple. We receive only a confirmation of purchase status (not payment information).

Apple StoreKit / Store Review (expo-store-review)

Purpose: Prompts users for App Store ratings via Apple's native review prompt. No data is collected by the developer through this feature.

5. How Your Data Is Used

Data stored locally on your device is used exclusively for:

  • Calculating mortgage payments, amortization schedules, and total interest
  • Displaying personalized dashboard with your mortgage progress
  • Running refinance comparisons and extra payment scenarios
  • Projecting home investment returns and buy vs rent comparisons
  • Generating shareable scenario images via the share sheet
  • Remembering your preferences and entered parameters

Data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share scenario images via the system share sheet.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

  • Reset in app: Use Settings to reset your mortgage parameters
  • Uninstall: Removing the app permanently deletes all locally stored data

Data Recovery: We cannot recover deleted data because we never had access to it. If you delete data or uninstall the app, it is permanently gone unless you have a device backup.

For data collected by Google AdMob, retention is governed by Google's data retention policies. We do not control or have access to this data.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because your data is stored locally and not processed by us, you exercise these rights directly through the app:

8. California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: We do not collect personal information directly. AdMob may collect device identifiers as described above.
  • Right to Delete: Delete data in the app or uninstall. For AdMob data, contact Google directly.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information. Ad-related data collection can be limited by declining the ATT prompt.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.

9. International Data Transfers

10. Data Security

Your data is stored locally on your device using standard platform storage mechanisms (AsyncStorage). The security of your data depends on:

  • Your device's security settings (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
  • Your operating system's security features
  • Physical security of your device

Security Disclaimer: While we have designed the app with privacy in mind, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of locally stored data. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. Because there is no server-side data storage, there is no server-side data to breach.

11. Children's Privacy

Mortgage Calculator Clear is a financial education tool designed for adults (ages 25-55), homeowners, and prospective homebuyers. This app is not directed at children and is not intended for use by individuals under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at privacy@storqlabs.com.

Actual mortgage terms, payments, and costs may differ significantly from estimates shown. The app does not account for property taxes, homeowner's insurance, PMI, HOA fees, or other costs unless explicitly stated. You are solely responsible for verifying calculations independently.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Storq Labs BV shall not be liable for any financial decisions made based on the app's calculations, including but not limited to mortgage commitments, home purchases, refinancing decisions, or investment decisions.

13. Service Availability & Discontinuation

IMPORTANT: MORTGAGE CALCULATOR CLEAR MAY BE DISCONTINUED AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEE OF CONTINUED AVAILABILITY.

By using this app, you acknowledge that:

  • We may discontinue the App at any time without prior notice
  • We make no guarantee of continued service availability
  • All locally stored data will remain on your device but the app may become inaccessible
  • No refunds will be provided upon discontinuation except where required by law

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective upon posting with an updated effective date. For significant changes, we may provide notice through the app or App Store update notes.

Your continued use of the app after any changes indicates acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
